INFORMAL POP-UP OUTING
When: February 24th from 3pm-7pm ish
Where : Wharf One, Cairns Liner Terminal
Details: This will be a tutorial session – “Learning to Use Filters”
We will meet for coffee at Wharf One Café at 3pm (note the coffee shop closes at 4pm so best be on time so as not to miss out)
After coffee we will wander up the boardwalk towards Mondos where there is a spot with a nice view down the inlet with the old jetty piles in the foreground. I will give a short demonstration of how to setup, use and photograph with a 10 stop filter. We will also cover how to get the timing right using the PhotoPils app. After the demo everyone will have a chance to try the techniques and see if we can photograph the piles, etc, using a 10 stop filter.
Towards sunset, depending on conditions there may be an opportunity to use a graduated ND filter.
Bring: Camera, lenses, filters, mobile phone and tripod. If you don’t have any filters you can borrow mine. I have adapters for 67mm, 77mm and 82mm diameter lenses, so you will need a lens with one of those measurements.
