There will be an informal Pop-Up event for Sunday 22nd August. The moon is full this Sunday 22nd and rises at 6pm. At Palm Cove the full moon, as it rises, will be directly aligned with the jetty which should make for some interesting compositions. Possibly take a long exposure image (about 1 hour) with a 10 stop ND filter which (fingers crossed) will show a column of moonlight rising above the jetty. Or, also some long focal length shots with something, or someone, silhouetted against the moon. Then again, it could be a complete failure but fun to try.
Those arriving early can meet around 4pm to scout out the best sites near the jetty, ready for the 6pm moon rise. All welcome. For those not interested in astro there are plenty of good night shoot opportunities at Palm Cove. Dinner will be at 7:30 at the Surf Club.
